Re: Thetis & CW Skimmer
a quick question. Has the issue with ghost spurs/spots within SDC Skimmer be solved. If yes, how can I achieve this? Decoding of SDC Skimmer works fine with streamed I/Q data from Thetis. Spot data is being sent to N1MM bandmap using the SDC Telnet server. However, some of the decoded spots are dupl...

Just realized that I never provided feedback.
The solution with the relay works flawless. If you are interested in the Python Script and the switching duration, just PM me.
Cheers,
Michael

Re: Strange CW behaviour of the G2 - RF or relay hot-switching???
no response so far.Nobodyelse experiencing same issues with CW? Just experienced the same issue again during the OK1WC contest on 40m yesterday evening. After some 10-20min, CW is starting to 'stumble' (dits and dahs not clearly separated) like a relay which is hanging. Maybe it is only on 40m and r...

Strange CW behaviour of the G2 - RF or relay hot-switching???
Dear all, I noticed a somewhat strange CW behaviour which occasionally appears but in particular when operating a contest at high speed for a longer time period. CW signal (and audio) is stumbling (dit and dahs get stuck). This happens when keying the radio via a paddle directly connected to the rad...

Re: Remote (virtualized) CW
Yes, you are really right. This solution requires a windows pc next to the Anan. I decided to go this way which offers a range of advantages for remote operation (eg. Powering up the PC remotely via WOL, using Remote Desktop, Vnc, or any other virtual desktop environment and to start / shut down the...

Re: Remote (virtualized) CW
Scott - another solution to operate CW remotely with a local generated sidetone based on a server/client setup. https://www.qsl.net/dl4yhf/Remote_CW_Keyer/Remote_CW_Keyer.htm The software can be configured as a server (next to the station) and as a client (on the remote computer) with a local side t...

Re: Network based (remote) radio power on/off
Thanks, Laurence - I will give it a try with a single USB controlled USB relay, just switching the 12V by a software programmed for the timing sequence needed for the G2.
Best regards,
Michael

Re: Network based (remote) radio power on/off
After some try and error I decided to put a powerful PC next to the G2 and to operate it remtoely using Chrome Remote Desktop. The PC can be swicthed on using Wake-On-Lan. In order to switch on and off the G2 I consider yo use an USB Relay connected to the PC and prpogrammed for the required G2 On/O...

Re: Remote (virtualized) CW
btw, Scott, I am not quite sure why but now I get a dedicated mixer for CWType which let me regulate separately the sidetone volume. Maybe related to the fact that I am not using cmASIO but only ASIO with Voicemeeter Virtual ASIO now. Here screenshots of my setting: Screenshot 2024-11-27 164307.png ...

Re: Strange CW behavior al of a sudden
I may have found the problem. It likely is related to a setting in N1MM+ CAT interface where I had all boxes of the PTT hard and software control ticked. Screenshot 2024-11-26 120831.png I was wondering of a relay double click sound when using N1MM+ and realized now that this is related to enabling ...

Re: Strange CW behavior al of a sudden
I was reading with interest this thread as I experienced relay hot switching during the CQWWDX Contest last week end. This is quite annoying in particular when you are in the middle of "running" with more calls coming in and you have to stop as the keyer goes crazy with missing dits and da...

Re: Remote (virtualized) CW
hmmm.....it works here. I plug in my paddles via a RS232-usb adapter. I think the adapter need to be connected to the computer before you start CWType otherwise the assigned com port will not show up in CWType . I was busy with the CQWWDX Contest while experiencing another problem (likely relating t...

Re: Remote (virtualized) CW
In the meantime I tested the setup with the Winkeyer. This works nice and does not require any additional circuit (only pin 4 and 6 of the female RS232 plug need to be connected to the Winkeyer outlet (Gnd and Tip)) and in Thetis the secondary cw usb port needs to be defined. Unfortunately, the side...

Re: SPE Expert Amp Interfacing
Not sure it is the right thread but I assume that the delay settings wirhin Thetis strongly depends on the hardware in use. Does anybody also have the G2 with a SPE Amp and if yes, have you found the perfect delay settings? Using CW I realized some missing dits and dahs from the Winkeyer after trans...

Re: G2 Software and Firmware Updates
Laurence, Just to let you know, all seem to be solved. The G2 booted and Thetis found Saturn as supposed this morning. Thus, it indeed was related to the openvpn installation script which adding something to the crontab - eg updating the system daily which apparently p2app does not like (maybe chang...

Re: G2 Software and Firmware Updates
I have a feeling what went wrong. When installing the openvpn on the RPi the installation script is asking if the system should be automatically updated for security reasons as there is at least one port open at the router. Default = yes ..... this likely is causing a daily update of the system whic...

Re: G2 Software and Firmware Updates
Thanks, Laurence - installed V17 now. The issue with cmASIO indeed was based on my misunderstanding and had nothing to do with the Saturn firmware. Scott helped me on this. cmASIO together with a native Asio Audio interface works great but I lack a CW sidetone. Would be nice if in a future version o...

Thanks, Scott - yes - now it is much clearer. I wrongly assumed the UMC feeds back the signal to the speaker in the computer via the USB connection. Re: cmASIO feature in Thetis
Without Thetis running the UMC control shows UMC inactive. With defined blocksizes of 64 all devices run smoothly. With Thetis and cmASIO active also the...

Re: G2 Software and Firmware Updates
Ciao Laurence, this is what I have done. I had some issues detecting the Saturn after installing Openvpn. Re: cmASIO feature in Thetis
It appears that I do have a similar problem as already reported here. I am using a Behringer UMC202HD audio interface together with a Anan G2 and the latest version of Thetis. cmASIO is providing green light after adding the UMC ASIO name to the registry. All set to 64 - 48000 but I do not get audio...

Sure, Scott but likely it would be better to stop the p2app software first. Anyway - it works now. In the meantime also my audio interface (Behringer UMC202HD) arrived but although cmASIO is lighting green, I do not get any audio. I think others have experienced simliar problems and will go through ...
