Thetis/VoiceMeeter/WSJT-X problem

Postby N8UR » Sat Aug 03, 2024 10:18 pm

Hi --
I have Thetis 2.10.0, VoiceMeeter Potato, and WSJT-X 2.7.0rc6 installed and more or less running OK. However, there are two problems related to VAC that I can't get past.

The main one is that after some time, the virtual cable sending from Thetis to WSJT-X starts acting strangely. The level meter (green bar on left) in WSJT-X cycles every few seconds from normal (around 40-50 dB) to 0 and then immediately back up. The WSJT-X waterfall shows data, but nothing decodes. Restarting WSJT-X and/or Thetis does not correct this -- I need to reboot the computer. Then it will work OK until the cycle starts repeating.

The second problem is that Thetis does not seem to retain the VAC status setting across restarts. Whether I set the main "Enable VAC" button, or the button to force it for digital modes and disable otherwise, if I exit Thetis and restart both boxes come up unchecked. All the other settings seem to be saved correctly.

Any ideas on these two issues would be appreciated. (Further details: the radio is an ANAN-7000DLE and the computer a BeeLink Ryzen 9 running Windows 11. When connected to an Icom IC-7300, WSJT-X works fine without the audio level issue.))

Thanks
John
