Hello, I recently received my VK3AMP 1KW amp plus the hook up serial cable. I have plugged it into the amp and 7OOO DLE. Please can someone who has a VK3AMP and 7000 DLE post the screenshot or shots of the settings needed.

I don't have a VK3AMP, but I looked on their website and it appears they only sell parts, not entire amplifiers, and that none of the parts they sell use a serial interface. So if we are to help you then we need to understand exactly what you have there for an amplifier. Did you build it yourself from VK3 parts?

The 7000DLE does not have a serial port on it. The 9 pin connector on the back is not a serial port. If you need serial communications with any amplifier the serial port to use is one that is on the PC running Thetis, as it is Thetis that does all communications for the radio.

Figure 1.3 in the amp manual shows the port on the amp incorrectly marked as "RS232". Again, it is not a serial port on the VK3 amp; every other part of the manual shows this as a parallel type interface with BCD inputs for band control.

Looking at the document you provided:

Do you have the cable specified?
Is it plugged into a USB port on your PC (not into the 7000)?
Do you have the correct drivers installed; is it showing up in device manager properly?
Do you have Thetis configured as shown on Page 3, especially the "Enable" checkbox?
Is the amp configured for Yaesu BCD mode?

I went over it again, it seems the 9 pin plug marked amp which wasn't clear was plugged into the radio and visa versa.

Terrific in great or horrrible and not worth the money ? I think great, specially considering AUD/EUR exchange.
