WSJTx and Thetis

Having trouble with Thetis and WSJTx. Have an Anan G2 with display, latest firmware and software. Also have voicemeeter banana and com0com for ports. WSJTx works fine in Thetis 3.5, but doesn’t have power output in Thetis 3.6 or the newest version 3.7.

This is strictly a Thetis to WSJT-X issue, i.e. it should not matter that it's a G2.

Is the Thetis VFO following WSJT-X frequency/band selection? If so, then we know the com0com CAT connection is good.

Is WSJT-X putting Thetis into transmit mode? If so, then again we know the com0com connection is good. I'm assuming you are using CAT PTT?

If it's "Yes" to all of the above, then obviously it's an audio problem. Please post screenshots of your WSJT-X audio setup, Thetis VAC audio setup, and Voicemeeter setup.

Answer is yes, attaching screenshots of setup which, by the way, were exactly the same in Thetis 3.5 and it transmitted without issue.

Hmmm, that all looks fine.

I can see activity on the Voicemeeter metering on B1 that shows receive audio, and on the B2 master showing it going over to WSJT-X.

What happens when you use the tune function in WSJT-X, do you see activity on the B2 meter and the B1 master showing audio from WSJT-X going the other way?

Edited to add:

Assign an audio output to A1 in Voicemeeter. Your default PC sound output will do fine. Voicemeeter can get a little weird without having an A1 output assigned.

Once assigned, you can click on the A1 route on any channel and listen to what the software is sending to that channel. This way you can make sure WSJT-X is outputting sound.

Dumb question: is the power slider in WSJT-X is at an appropriate level?

None of these steps seem to help, attaching what happens when I tune from WSJTx. Again, it all worked fine in Thetis 3.5, but not 3.6 or 3.7.

Any other thoughts on this Scott? Other things we can try?

In your photo above I'm seeing audio going from WSJT-X into Voicemeeter. Did you set up a sound device on A1 and click the A1 route on B2 to confirm that? If so, then it would seem the problem is between Voicemeeter and Thetis.

Are you running cmASIO?

Now that Richie has given us the new database manager functionality, save out your current database and then revert to a default database. Then just make the minimal changes necessary to test. That will eliminate the possibility of a corrupt database.

I did the first part, will try again and send a screenshot. What is cmASIO? I’ll try the database idea too, that hasn’t been done yet.

If you don't know what cmASIO is then you are not using it and don't need to worry about it ;)
