In this video there is also some mention of improved NR and NB modes, but no specifics.
Flex finally offers adaptive predistortion linearization in their new 8000 series
Re: Flex finally offers adaptive predistortion linearization in their new 8000 series
It took them THIS long to appropriate NR0V's code, modify it enough to avoid GPL infringement, and be left with something that still works

Re: Flex finally offers adaptive predistortion linearization in their new 8000 series
Supposedly the 6000 radios all have the internal connections in place for Adaptive Pre-Destortion. All they need to do is implement it in the firmware. But, given comments by some of Flex Radio's staff on their Facebook page today, it appears the 6000 series radios don't have the horsepower to handle it along with everything else in the current system.
So, if one wants APD and improved DSP functions like Noise Reduction and Noise Blanker, they will have to upgrade to the new radios, leaving the older generation behind. Too expensive for me to aquire those features when my 8000DLE and Thetis already have them.
No years of uncertainty waiting for Flex Radio to get around to adding the features and possibly only doing it half way like they have been doing with the 6000 radios.
My one hope is Apache Labs or someone, will come along with a reliable line of radios that can use the features I like in Thetis. ( plus, be more proactive with communication and customer service)

According to the verbage in the video, Adaptive Predistortion is currently only working in Alpha software and will not be available at launch of the radio:

Some guy in NJ put adaptive predistortion in a Flex 5000 years ago. I figured they'd catch up before now.
