I would be grateful for some information/advice on the PTT system on the G2.
I intend using a headset and footswitch with my G2 and utilising the 3.5mm PTT jack socket on the rear panel to activate the PTT.
The G2 User Guide show the connections for the 3.5mm jack plug to connect with the rear panel 3.5mm socket.
On this plug/socket combination there is a PTT "in" and a PTT "out".
According to the User Guide, using the foot switch to ground the tip of the 3.5mm jack will activate the PTT "in", but does this instantly put the G2 into transmit mode?
The User Guide also states that the PTT "out" on the ring on the 3.5mm jack is grounded when the G2 is in transmit.
If so is the PTT "out" on the ring on the 3.5mm jack grounded at the same time as the grounding of the tip of the 3.5mm jack, or is it sequenced before or after the PTT "in"?
The User Guide states that the PTT "out" is for use for keying external linear amplifiers etc.
But surely it would make no sense for the PTT "out" to operate at the same time or after the PTT "in" as that would result in hot switching of the linear amplifier?
Could it that be that grounding the tip of the 3.5mm jack activates the PTT "in", but that does not instantly put the G2 into transmit mode, rather that it activates the PTT "out" to switch the linear amplifier before putting the G2 into transmit?
I ask this as I have a Gemini DX1200 linear that I wish to activate before the G2 goes to transmit.
All comments, answers and suggestions welcome.
Many thanks

Anan G2 PTT query
Re: Anan G2 PTT query
AFAIK, there is zero delay from PTT in to PTT out, regardless of the source of the PTT command (hardware input, MOX, VOX, CAT, etc.)
There is an adjustment for delay from PTT out to RF out. You can find that in Setup > General > Options > Options-1 > RF Delay
Note that this is true for all hardware variants from the original Hermes all the way up to the G2.

Re: Anan G2 PTT query
Thanks for that information and I've found the RF delay setting, which will ensure that my amp isn't hot switched.
