It's been a while.....however im mulling over buying a Anan 200D. This is the blue fronted with grey crinkle finish main case (Ser. 200D1083)
The current owner is not aware of the PA version and also if it ran pure signal with an external coupler...
Anything to look out for or even just be aware of before I take the plunge. Thanks in advance!!
Paul

If the seller is willing to do some tests for you, the version of RF/PA board can be determined as described here:
viewtopic.php?f=35&t=2338Any version will accept an input from and external coupler. The Rev. 15 & 16 boards benefit greatly from the addition of an external PureSignal switching modification such as described here:

Many thanks for your help.
I guess then it doesnt show in Thetis the PA Rev ?
I will reach out to the seller to test as your link describes and see what happens.
Cheers!

Thetis has no idea.
One of the failings for the hardware design is no provision for machine-readable board revision data. Adding that feature would have made firmware and software updates SO much easier!

Hi Paul,
My ANAN is a blue-faced 200D and it has been very reliable for me in daily use for years. Scott's caution regarding the PA board inside the rig is on the mark and will make a big difference in the simplicity of your setup. Obviously, the Rev 24 board is the most desirable to have and easiest to get working. The blue face versions are later production units so there is a good chance the one you are looking at has a Rev 24 but no one is sure if the switch to blue coincides exactly with the Rev 24 introduction. You might inquire as to whether or not protocol 2 firmware is installed and if so, what version it is. Rick - N1GP did a terrific job compiling multiple versions to assure that 99% of the 200D Orion boards could move to protocol 2 successfully. If the previous owner already did that and he has installed a version that is running well then that saves you a lot of trial-and-error testing. Then again, if you are happy with protocol 1 then no worries.
Good luck with the purchase!
