Any suggestions? - "Funky" Curves in AmpView

Postby JJ4SDR » Wed Jan 15, 2025 1:30 am

Playing with another ANAN 7000 DLEMKII right now. Obviously, I wanted to see how PureSignal works and went into AmpView. It looks a bit
"funky". Any suggestions on how to make the curves look a bit more "regular." Any parameters that I may want to check/change and if so, which ones?

Pure Signal has trouble "correcting" as well so the "Correcting" square box doesn't go green. And, having difficulty at times to get the AmpView to become visible although I click on the soft button. The AmpView is similar on all the 5 bands that I operate on.

Put out about 1400 W from an RF2K-S amp that I also use with the other 7000 DLE MKII, but AmpView looks much more "regular" on that radio.

On the AmpView:

It is there but it was "hidden," so no issue with that.

Using internal sampler in the ANAN (no amp in loop), the AmpView looks beautiful.

Update:

Below, see screen-captures of 4 instances of Amp View. I was on 20 meters as I was yesterday. Today, the Amp View looks better than it did yesterday..... :? Not sure why that is  .

The first 2 when I used my Solid State RF2K-S amplifier, with around 1,400W out.
It appears that when I use SSB for the "Lock", just speaking normally into the mic, with ALC Group hitting a little above 0dB, the curves look more "regular" than when I use 2 TONE.

Below, see Amp Views when I used the internal sampler in the ANAN 7000 DLE MKII ("RX Bypass on TX" box was unchecked), putting out a little shy of 50W.

Here again, the curves in the AmpView look more "regular" when using an SSB signal to achieve "Lock."

Could the "discrepancy" between the curves in the AmpView be a "tell", indicating potential, or latent failure in one (both) of the finals inside the ANAN 7000 DLE MKII? I know that this was the case in the radio of a friend of mine (if you want to jump in and comment, please do ;) ). The curves in the AmpView that I posted yesterday looked very similar to what he saw and he ended up shipping his radio to Doug. While he was at it, both finals were replaced as per request by my friend. Those replacements made, AmpView and Pure Signal have worked out well.

I also note that the correction "(Mag Corr") curve when using 2TONE for "Lock" (when using both the external RF sampler and internal RF sampler) is not a mirror image of "Mag Amp"). Like Pure Signal was "correcting" for a magnitude "glitch" that wasn't there. What does that tell you?

Look forward to comments and/or advice!
