Hi
Can the G2 make use of pure signal without an external sampler?
That is, does it have an inbuilt sampler at the output stage?
If so, how is this enabled in Thetis?

If you are not using an external amplifier you can turn on Pure Signal from a menu in the top of the main display in Thetis. There is a indicator in the lower right of the waterfall display that will turn green indicating Pure Signal is active.

Yes. Also, just for completeness, you can use it this way with an external amp but it will only linearize the internal amplifier in that case.

It does, as does the 7000 and 8000 series units, and the later serial number 200D units.

It is the default configuration. The settings are available in Setup > General > Ant/Filters > Antenna. EXT1 on TX, when disabled, has the unit default to the internal coupler. To use an external coupler, Enable EXT1 on TX and attach the coupler output to the EXT1 connector on the rear panel of the ANAN.

Thanks for confirming this. I do have an external amp and realise I need to use a coupler to do this correctly but in the absence of that, I imagined I would see the feedback turning blue/greep at the bottom right of the watefall, however I don't see any change when txing?
Am I missing something?

ATT on TX needs to be enabled so that PureSignal can perform automatic attenuation control. And, of course, the PS-A ("PureSignal Automatic") button needs to be activated on the main console UI.

Testing is most easily accomplished by transmitting a two-tone signal with the two-tone button on the main UI.
