Order Update Expectations - Headless G2

Postby W4QA » Mon Oct 14, 2024 4:08 pm

I finally took a leap of faith and ordered a headless G2 on September 20, 2024 with a small prepay, received a final invoice via PayPal over email about a week ago, and made full payment via PayPal on October 12. What can I expect from Apache Labs in terms of communications on the status of my order at this point? (As of today, my order status on the website has not been updated that I’ve paid in full, despite the receipt sent to me by PayPal indicating so.)

Thanks for any insight on what to expect.

Basically same thing I did.
1. Opted in for the $1.00 hold for an ordering spot.
2. Got a request for payment.
3. Paid in full by credit card through PayPal back on Sept 19th.
4. Sent a couple emails just asking when order fulfillment might be.
5. Received no replies to email until I filed a case with PayPal to get my money back.
6. Then got an email on October 12th saying: "The consignment is already with our freight forwarder undergoing export clearance. I sincerely apologize for the lack of an update but do hope that you will give us a chance to make up for it. As a goodwill gesture we will extend your warranty to three years. I expect it to be cleared for export and ship next week."

So... We'll see.

I can't see any content on that site anymore, I was permanently banned 3 years ago from even viewing anything on that site, for two comments I made in the only thread I ever posted in. :|

But I don't really count that as a loss.. :P

Mark,

Banned? That's ridiculous. That forum needs all the help it can get. They sure don't need to be banning anyone unless the comments are extremely bad. And like you said,, No loss.

Update: I received a Gmail / email on October 14 that said this —

“Payment received with thanks.

Order should ship shortly, it is currently under export processing with customs,

Regards,

Abhi”

Order status on the website for my order has still not been updated since I placed the original order back in September.

I will continue to post details on exactly how this process is going so that others can set their expectations appropriately.

Just got a notice (10/23/2024) from FedEx that the radio is shipping. Again, I wasn't ticked off about the wait, I was ticked off that no one could answer an email in a timely fashion or give a concrete fulfillment estimate.

Anyway just wanted to let you know if you've been waiting, it might be on the way now.

As promised, here is a brief update on the latest status of my headless G2 order:

-I emailed Abhi on Monday morning 10/21/24 about any changes to the status of my order, and he replied within 24 hours that my order should be coming out of the customs process on the same day and would then be shipped.

-On Tuesday 10/22/24 I received a notification from FedEx that a label had been created by the shipper and that a pickup had been scheduled.

-Today 10/23/24, I received a tracking number from FedEx and an indication that they had the shipment in hand as well as a notice that I will need to have the shipment signed for once it arrives. The status of my order on the AL website now says "shipped".

I'll post again once it arrives here in North Carolina.

That is a improvement from other buyers experiences. Let's hope that it is an indication of changes being made. And not a one off thing.

Latest update:

FedEx tracking shows that the G2 arrived at the Memphis, TN FedEx hub today. Prior to that it was scanned the first time in the US (after leaving India) in Jamaica, NY yesterday.

There is no delivery date promised yet by FedEx, but I’d imagine it will be here in NC within a couple days. The delivery indicates that “Signature is Required”. I’ll keep the forum posted.

Update:

My headless G2 was just delivered by FedEx on 10/30/24. I have not opened the box yet, but it appears to be in good shape and well packed.

The box was held up in customs in Memphis for over 2 days before it was released and then delivered..

My G2 arrived yesterday 10/30/2024, I just with they would let you know BEFORE you order that a signature is required. I burned a vacation day only to have the radio arrive 2 hours after I would have been home if I had worked. OR I could have had it sent to where I work.

But it's here and in one piece. I didn't hook it up yet cause I'm waiting on a couple patch cables and I have to build a power cable.
