Just a Simple question on the PI 500 keyboard/ mouse

Postby KK4X » Tue Feb 11, 2025 9:29 pm

hello all, can I use the PI 500 keyboard to control the G2 Ultra commands or use it as a regular keyboard to control the programs.

I hope this makes sense. this is just a simple question .
thanks hope to hear what you operators have to say about that idea.

Why would you want to use a Pi 500? That's not just a keyboard, it's an entire Pi computer. You'd have to do some weird stuff to make it work as a keyboard for a G2.

Just buy a cheap wireless keyboard from Amazon, the kind that has a USB receiver. I'm partial to the Logitech wireless keyboard products. And while you are at it get a compatible Logitech M705 wireless mouse. The M705 has an inertial smooth scroll wheel that is simply amazing in that it feels very much like spinning a traditional VFO knob. Plus it uses two AA batteries that last a really long time, so no need for any charging.
