Recently, I was made aware that at times the last syllable of my phone transmission is being dropped.
Somewhat as if I was taking my foot off of the PTT footswitch a bit too early.
I am aware that there is a PTT DELAY (in GENERAL>OPTIONS>OPTIONS1) in which the PTT DELAY parameter appears to adjust the PTT Hang Time in Milliseconds after PTT is released.
If anyone has had this issue, has increasing this parameter "solved" the behavior?
If so how high should I go? it is at zero "0" now.
My audio chain at present is EV 327ND -> to Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 (latest firmware) -> to USB to THETIS (2.10.3.8).
My foot switch is attached to the G2 PTT port.
I suspect the audio is "lagging" a wee bit and the G2 PTT port chops the audio flow??

Dropping Last Syllable in SSB Phone
Re: Dropping Last Syllable in SSB Phone
Assuming you are using either ASIO in VAC, or cmASIO, the delay associated with the mic--2i2--Thetis path is very minimal, perhaps 100 ms if you are using VAC and haven't fine tuned buffer sizes and such. With VAC tuned for lowest latency, or cmASIO, this can be as small as 30-50 ms.
If you are using some or all of the processing built into Thetis, e.g. CGC, EQ, etc., that can delay things even more to the point where it can become noticeable.
PTT Delay is the correct setting to adjust. It will solve this problem. As to "how high to go", only you and your listeners can say. I'd be shocked if you needed more than 200 ms. Or just slow your foot down

Re: Dropping Last Syllable in SSB Phone
I bumped the PTT Delay to +100 ms and that seemed to do it perfectly.
I am using EQ so perhaps that is the cause.
In any case, now all is well and 100% functionally perfect. Thanks.
