Suggestions for house keeping when using 2 radios
Posted: Tue Feb 04, 2025 3:56 pm
I have 2 ANAN 7000 DLEMKII radios and use the same version of Thetis on both. With regard to FW, they use different versions of Protocol 2 (2.1.18 and 2.2.2). Both radios run (not at the same time) on the same PC.
Currently the AppsData folder for radio #1 resides on an external drive only (this may be a false assumption depending on the assumptions I am making below
) and AppsData folder for radio #2 is located on the PC itself.
Q1: Backing up both the AppsData but Thetis SW Folder is important so perhaps I use second external drive with separate folders for radio 1 and 2.
Q2: When I bounce between radios, I assume that the AppsData Folder located on the PC will be invoked automatically regardless of which radio I am on, correct?
Q3: If the above assumption is correct, won't that mean that when I switch to radio #1 the "wrong" AppsData will be invoked?
Q4: If the above assumption is correct, won't that also mean that parameters such as Level and Frequency Calibration (and others) will be off on radio #1?
Q5: When exporting a database for either radio, I would think that it be important to specify the folder first as otherwise the database will automatically end up in the AppsData folder residing on the PC, correct?
Would it be better to run the 2 radios on separate PCs?
Awaiting suggestions for a pragmatic approach on this
